Argentina was colonised by Spain and only gained its independence in 9 July 1816 and because of this most of the Argentine population is made up of Europeans, due to the spanish “conquistadores” genocide of the natives. Argentina has a market-oriented economy with abundant natural resources, a well-educated population, an export-oriented agricultural sector and a relatively diversified industrial base. It is one of the major G20 countries. Argentina is a founding member of both the United Nations, Mercosur and the Union of South American Nations.

Argentina’s Flag

The Argentina emblem depicts the Sun of May which, according to tradition, was created by General Belgrano when he looked at the sky just before the Battle of Parana. White represents peace and honesty while
blue represents many elements including vigilance, truth and loyalty, perseverance & justice.
